Language Arts (phonics, handwriting reading, writing, grammar, research, speaking, listening, presentation) learning blocks and classes challenge students in grades preK-8 to learn, practice, and master foundational skills and concepts so they can enjoy proficiency in reading and writing. Students write a variety of texts as they learn and practice the mechanics of writing—phonics, spelling, vocabulary, and grammar. Teachers use hands-on tools and visuals aids during every lesson to promote literacy and deep understanding. Students become fluent readers and writers, as well as effective communicators and listeners across multiple perspectives, using different mediums for varied purposes. The language arts curriculum equips students with skills necessary to think critically and work collaboratively with others. We encourage students to select and read a variety of texts related to teacher-selected themes and their own personal interests and curiosities.
Mathematics encourage students to work individually and collaboratively to tackle complex problems, while enabling them to use concepts and skills in meaningful and relevant ways. Teachers provide an environment that develops and inspires mathematical, critical, and logical thinking with multi-sensory learning tools and visual aids. Math concepts are regularly applied to real-world situations and other curricular areas. Individual math topics are taught as an integrated whole, while mastery of basic concepts and skills is prioritized.
Science involves asking and answering scientific questions creatively, collaboratively, and independently. Using a variety of scientific processes, skills, and tools, students employ their knowledge to explore areas of interest, individual curiosities, and global issues. Lab experiments and hands-on projects are a big component of this course.

Physical Education & Nutrition is grounded in giving students opportunities to exercise daily and the information and resources needed to make responsible decisions with respect to personal fitness, athletics, nutrition, and disease prevention. We also value the importance of building students’ comprehension of anatomy and physiology to know and understand the body in scientific and physiological contexts. The themes of responsible decision-making, monitoring well-being, and use of sport and fitness to stay healthy are at the center of this curriculum.
We do not offer sexual health or contraceptive education to respect the rights and responsibilities of families who prefer to choose and facilitate sexual health education for their children. It is highly encouraged that families have discussions with students about these topics in the privacy of their own homes and/or seek developmentally-appropriate information and advice from healthcare professionals.
