Founder and History
Mina's School of Great Falls is a small, private school located in the suburban heart of Great Falls, Virginia. Our school serves students in grades PreK - 8. We began as a tutoring service, however rave reviews, community encouragement, and demand from parents inspired us to open a full-day school. We are currently a school member of the Virginia Council of Private Education (VCPE) and are deep in the process of submitting applications for school accreditation with Cognia.
Founded in 2014 by Mina Kondner, our school has grown from a small tutoring service which focused primarily on math instruction to a full-day private school that offers all core academic subjects. We have a solid reputation in the Great Falls community for working with all students, despite abilities and/or challenges.
Miss Mina has a BA in Biology and completed several Master's Degree courses at Strayer University. She has over 30 years of experience teaching a variety of subjects to various grade levels in her native country of Iran and the United States.

What Parents Are Saying
"Our daughter has thrived with such individualized attention and the specialized curriculum." "Mina's School has been excellent for our four children. Ms. Mina and her staff are dedicated to helping the children to learn and grow in a supportive environment. The children receive so much one on one attention from the teachers which prevents them from ever falling behind. Students are encouraged to work together and help one another like a family. We also love the fact that they go outside multiple times a day and that they are responsible for helping around the school." |
"Mina personally took time to catch my daughter up to her peers when she first started at school. Since that time my daughter has excelled in her school work and become very confident with her academics. The teaching style, especially for math, helps concept understanding not just memorization. This allowed my daughter to process and apply in a way she was missing in her old school. The system of learning allows for my daughter to advance easily in her strong areas without making her dread her weaknesses." "We really like the individualized attention and tailored pace of teaching. We value Mina’s curriculum that is focused on mastering the fundamentals of math and reading which we think builds confidence and a love of learning based on academic success. We like the small school atmosphere and how respectful and caring the students are to each other and to their teachers. We like that there are two recesses a day." |
