Adeline Mabel Coleman MD, FACOG
Adeline Coleman was born in 1978 to parents with a love of knowledge and education. From a young age of 6, Adeline remembers flipping through the pages of her father’s encyclopedia Britannica and wanting to know about everything printed on those pages. Her father taught her
about the physics of electricity, mechanics of vehicles and the many hidden capabilities of water.
A naturally born creative, Adeline fell in love with science at the coaxing of her father who was a Civil Engineer by profession and an adventurer at heart. Her father would always say, “Cherish learning and education always, for it’s the one thing that will always be yours and no one can ever take from you.”
Heeding the advice of her father, Adeline went on to obtain her medical education at the Medical College of Virginia, where she served as the president of the student chapter of American Medical Association. Shortly after, she met her future husband while serving as administrative chief of residents at Sinai Hospital in Baltimore. They moved to Seattle Washington where she rekindled her love for art and obtained a second degree in fashion design.
The love for learning and knowledge that her father instilled in her has remained long after his her father’s passing. Her most recent acquisition and proudest moment being an invitation to participate in a capsule study to explore Artificial Intelligence at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT).
Over the years since obtaining her medical degree, she has served as an educator, preceptor, and mentor to medical students, residents and physician assistants. Her most recent stint being a preceptorship with Shenandoah University in women's health and serving as chair of women’s health services for SsahiPath (Sub-saharan Africa Health Initiative).
